WOWSystems earns R&D Suitability Recognition - Selo ID

WOWSystems has been officially recognised as a suitable entity to carry out Research and Development activities under SIFIDE, in the field of ICT applied to the Creative Industries.

Wowsystems Informática Lda. has been granted the Recognition of Suitability for Research and Development (R&D) activities, known as the Selo ID. The decision was taken on 25 September 2026 by the Board of ARDITI - the Regional Agency for the Development of Research, Technology and Innovation - under SIFIDE-RAM and article 37-A of the Portuguese Investment Tax Code.

    What is the Selo ID?

Created by ANI - the Portuguese National Innovation Agency - the Selo ID certifies an entity's competence to carry out R&D in specific scientific domains and fields. To obtain it, companies must demonstrate consistent R&D investment (at least 7.5% of turnover), submit a detailed description of their research projects and prove a qualified technical team, followed by expert assessment.

The recognition helps an entity stand out from competitors, build new R&D partnerships and access funding from R&D support funds, including SIFIDE investment funds.

    Recognised fields

    • Cultural and creative industries - ICT applied to the Creative Industries (digital content, educational software, games)
    • ICT - ICT applied to the Creative Industries

The recognition is valid until the twelfth financial year following the application, so it will accompany WOW for over a decade.

    A milestone for WOW

This seal confirms what we have been doing for 18 years: applied research in games, interactive reality, AI and transformational games, in projects such as SENSE-SEAT, eHealthyCouples and Hanno: A Magical Tale, developed by our studio One Way Eleven. It opens a new chapter of partnerships with universities, research centres and investors to take innovation made in Madeira even further.
