WOW had the privilege of designing and developing the official mobile app for Quinta da Palmeira, a centuries-old estate on the hillside of Santa Luzia in Funchal, overlooking the bay.

Spanning approximately 30,000 m², Quinta da Palmeira is one of the most unique historic gardens on Madeira Island. Originally owned by Harry Hinton, it houses an extraordinary botanical collection with native Madeiran and exotic species, towering trees, and fascinating heritage elements, including the famous "Columbus Window" in Manueline style.

Complete botanical catalogue - Database with scientific names, detailed descriptions, and professional photos of hundreds of plants
Interactive map - Precise location of points of interest, themed gardens, and notable species with Google Maps integration
Integrated audio guide - Audio narratives telling the story of each point of interest, enabling a rich self-guided tour
Species cards - Detailed information on family, origin, and flowering period for each plant

Available for free on iOS and Android, the app was developed with a user-first approach, using the quinta's institutional colour palette (emerald green and gold) for seamless brand integration.
